RE: Winterize Outside Shower Only - Possible?

If nothing else 1==do the laundry in cold water!! We wash everything in cold water at home, does fine.. 2==turn the faucet off to the outside shower, and leave the shower head ON or OPEN. I like the idea of the foam also.
NOW THE BIGGER PROBLEM*****How are you going to winterize the washing machine? Of course you know that it will freeze up also. Even though it drains water from the tank, it doesnt drain water from the lines. IT WILL FREEZE*****

RE: TT ? answered Thank you all

You may have a RELAY in line somewhere that is tripping. But I believe a fuse is either BLOWN or GOOD. I cant say that Ive ever seen a "partially" blown fuse. I would check the plug at the TV with a test light. If all the lights work there. Then the problem has to be in the trailer somewhere. The trailer lights may not have a good ground, or even a broken wire. Try the truck plug first. Then go forward.

RE: Putting in slide outs for winter

First off ******WELCOME TO OUR NICE FRIENDLY FORUM****** As others have said CLEAN THE TOP. Then lube the slides and the seals. Finally reel it in. Check it out afterwards. Although I have also seen TTs with the slides out all year long. I agree with you. Id bring mine in.

RE: storage

we leave most things in. We use BOUNCE. Some say use BOUNCE, some say NEVER use BOUNCE. Either way we've never had a RODENT problem. Of course we also stuff the toes of panty hose with moth balls and wrap them around the tires and tongue/stab jacks. (Anything that touches the ground). OH I almost forgot. We store our camper in the onsite storage area at our CG. "about" 60 miles from home. So we dont check on it often in the OFF season.

RE: hooked up to TV and shore

under normal circumstances it will harm either battery. As Jack said,. It may or may not charge the TV battery. However if something is WRONG in the wiring ANYWHERE!!!! you could kill both batteries QUICKLY. Hopefully you have at least a fuse between your plug (TV) and your TV battery.

RE: Tire Wear Pattern-Tandem Axle TT (Pic's) Where to look next

Mis-alignment in the axles and/or shackles is a fairly common problem. Talking to as many fulltimers as I do. I hear alot of complaints of similar problems. Brand name on TT or 5er doesnt seem to matter much on this problem.

RE: The boys Firebird again

He has several parts bought already. None put on yet. I cant remember all of them. I know he has a 4k stall, ignorant huge cam, headers, 383 stroker crank, electric water pump. carbon driveshaft, 12 bolt 8.5" rear end with 3:73s. ******Already done ********* ported/polished the heads and intake, subframe connectors, adjustable torque arm, racing control arms, strut tower brace, drag radials.
Im sure I forgot a number of things. But you get the idea. It should be quick. We are shooting for low 11s (all motor) or high 8s/low 9s (on the bottle). --At least by this time next year.

The boys Firebird again

Well I havent posted here in a while. We took the ol 94 Firebird "FORMULA" to Gateway Intl Raceway Friday. St Louis, Mo (actually Madison Illinois). It was the final night of the year there. Granted this car is a stock 350 "LT-1" with 188,000 miles. We did minor work to the engine and lots to the suspension. Anyway the boy ran 3 races. The first 2 was against different Mustang GTs. The boy won both races with times of 13.98 & 13.95 (1/4 mile times) Now it gets funny. His last race was the LAST race (the last race of the YEAR at the track--the last race of that 350 LT-1) Yea he was up against a crazy fast 11 sec S-10. My boy finished that race under power "up-in-smoke" 14.20 It still starts, and runs under its own power, but does smoke somewhat. Im thinkin a broken piston ring.
***Guess its a good thing we bought that car hauler trailer a couple weeks ago HUH? He also has another block/heads for that car and most of the "VERY high performance" internals bought. It will be a 10-11 sec car by spring WE HOPE.

RE: ordinance against rv's

BINGO-----That is exactly why I STARTED keeping mine at the CG storage lot. Of couse I understand the majority on this forum do not own in a seasonal type CG like I do. I know not being able to keep your RV at your home is a major pain. RVs can be stored at home NEATLY by 99%. Its the other 1% that makes the neighborhood look like a an RV salvage lot---thats why they created these ordinances. I would likely have an attorney READ the ordinance. If it says NO. Then why start trouble. Look into some storage lots or maybe trusting Family/Friends that dont have ordinances concerning RVs. SOMETIMES--spending a little money can save you the biggest expenses.

Im either campin or cruisin

I havent posted on this forum in a while. I didnt go campin this weekend. But thanks to that Car Club we are in, I wasnt bored or lonely. Actually quite the opposite. We had our annual river road cruise. It ended up we had 70 Camaros/Firebirds. 1 Colorado. 1 Aveo. 1 Monte Carlo. 1 Chevelle. 1 HHR. 1 Subaru WRX-STI. 1 Neon. 1 mini-van. 2 Harleys. 6 ZO6 Corvettes. That is a TOTAL of 86 vehicles in a perfect line taking up a huge space on the freeway. And in rural-town Illinois---we actually stayed at the speedlimit. I think the total human population ended up being 132. We had a delicious BBQ with all the trimmins at the prettiest State Park Illinois has to offer (in my opinion). Here is a link to the pics that we took
our few pics
And a link to the 225 pics that the club president took.
lots of pics
My Sons car is the White Firebird with the blue stripe at the beltline. And I was in the big bad AVEO as mentioned above. Since we had 7 people with us combined. OOPS I think I may have forgotten a bike or 2. ENJOY

Heck not only would I have NOT paid, but Id probably call the Police. They had no right to TOUCH that truck without a signature on a work order.

RE: 1 wire lights a bad idea?

webslave said it best. And YES as mentioned above from someone, you can attach a wire to the grounding screw and run the other end of that NEW wire to a ground point.

RE: flat screen televisions

I have to agree with 8iron. Unless you are taking your HD box with you. Look for the best STD picture. (standard def) Most every electronics store has their tvs where they can show you HD or STD pictures with a simple channel change.
With tax return this year we bought an LG tv (LCD) and our Son bought a Vizio tv (LCD) in HD they are both just beautiful. But in standard our LG is remarkable better usually. *** One thing to look for is screen response time (in milli-seconds) Generally speaking 10MS or less will give the best picture quality. ***

TT ? answered Thank you all

Just had to say thank you to all. I asked for a wiring diagram for a typical 7 pin "RV TYPE" plug. So I could wire my TV and a couple of trailers. WELL I got real busy and didnt turn the computer on for a week. I went in Saturday morning searched for my post. Got your answers, and got the JEEP and the car hauler wired up. Probably will do the utility trailer next weekend. The JEEP and car hauler work perfect, as does the "factory" wired TT.
****AGAIN THANK YOU ALL****

RE: Can anyone tell me what this might be??

being a factory worker myself for many many years Im just gonna throw this out there. I wonder if it was a minor OOPS at the factory, and instead of doing the CORRECT thing and replacing that tank. The BOSS said "plug it up somehow and seal it good--send it out--no one will ever notice" Im not trying to be rude. But that is a very typical answer from MGT these days.

7 plug wiring diagram

Does anyone have a link to the proper wiring diagram for the typical 7 prong (RV TYPE) plug. That is found on most every TT. Im getting ready to wire up a new-to-me car hauler trailer as well as my JEEP. Right now I just have the flat four on the jeep. (I havent moved the TT out of the CG yet so I havent really needed lights or brakes) Oh and guess what. That flat four is wrong because it blows fuses. "Probably no converter". So If I could find the proper diagram, I know it would be right to use with the new trailer AND the TT. I might even throw a 7 prong on the small utility trailer and eliminate the need for a flat four. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH---TIM
